This climatic forest of almost 7 hectares is located around 5 km northwest of Schwerin, for which around 2,000 young sessile oaks were planted in the fall of 2014. The area is now fully planted and the young trees are growing healthily and dynamically.

How to find the Herren Steinfeld climate forest
The reforestation area is located in the immediate vicinity of the village of Herren Steinfeld, about 5 km northwest of Schwerin. Coming from Schwerin, please follow the B 104 in the direction of Lübeck. Approx. 200 m after the Friedrichsthal railroad crossing, turn right towards Herren Steinfeld. In the village, follow the Dorfstraße straight ahead. After about 500 m, keep left at the fork and follow the road "Zur Schafskoppel". At the end of the road, follow the adjoining field path for 100 m. The reforestation area is then in the immediate vicinity on the left-hand side.

Forest shares for our climate forests
In all parts of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, a total of over 100 hectares of new forests adapted to climate change have been planted at 19 different locations since 2007. The reforestation of these additional areas was financed by "forest shares" from holidaymakers, residents and businesses. During planting campaigns for our climate forests, guests can talk to forestry experts and learn exciting details about the forest in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
