Information on stumbling stones in Waren (Müritz)
In Waren (Müritz), several stumbling stones commemorate Jewish fellow citizens and other victims of National Socialism. The small brass plaques are embedded in the sidewalk in front of the last freely chosen places of residence of the persecuted people and bear their names, dates of life and information about their individual fates. They are part of the Europe-wide art and remembrance project by artist Gunter Demnig and are an invitation to pause for thought in everyday life and to keep local history alive.
The Stumbling Stones make it clear that the crimes of National Socialism did not take place in the abstract, but right in the heart of towns and communities. Each individual stone stands for a person and a life story that is inextricably linked to Waren (Müritz).

Detailed information about the respective life stories is then displayed directly on their own device. The app supplements the tour with digital content and enables a particularly personal approach to the culture of remembrance.
The "Stolpersteine Digital" app is available free of charge in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and is being continuously expanded. Further information on the nationwide digital project and how the app works can be found at
