The open-air museum Klockenhagen is a historical village in a village, because on five hectares of parkland there are typical Mecklenburg farmhouses, barns, windmills and a village church.

Modern tradition meets hospitality. The manor house, built around 1805 on the edge of the Rostock Heath, was lovingly converted by the Eben family into a hotel-guesthouse in 1992, and has been renovated and expanded ever since.

In our salt experience center - the salt towers of Trinwillershagen - immerse yourself in the fascinating variety of 32,000 kg of natural salts in our bizarre tower with a 16-cornered ground plan, interior grading works, nebulization plants, clay brook oven and a world of 240 different salty specialties.

In 1288, the elaborately designed brick building of the church is said to have been completed. The church consists of a choir, nave and tower. It was built on a foundation of neatly hewn granite blocks.

In the MV Art Gallery, self-taught artists Wolfgang Hube and Kathy H-Teufel exhibit their paintings, painted ostrich eggs, stones and jewelry created using a wide variety of techniques. Guests can also become active themselves in the painting workshop. A guided tour of the gallery is free of charge.
