The Scheelehaus was named after the Stralsund scientist Carl Wilhelm Scheele.
This gabled house was built in 1350 during the late Renaissance period and became famous in the 18th century thanks to Carl Wilhelm Scheele. The discoverer of oxygen saw the light of day here in 1742.
In the 1980s, the house was one of the few buildings in the city to be extensively renovated and restored. Since 2011, the Scheelehaus has housed a hotel and several gastronomic establishments.

The Theatre Stralsund has been part of the Theatre Vorpommern since 1994 - together with the Theatre Greifswald and the Theatre Putbus (since 2006)

The building, erected in the style of North German brick Gothic, whose construction dates back to the years 1300-1310, is one of the most important secular buildings on the Baltic coast. Above the large windows of the market front of the town hall, the coats of arms of the neighboring Hanseatic cities point to the importance of the Hanseatic League for Stralsund. The display gable is unique in the Baltic region.
