Harbours and marinas, sustainable

The port of Barth is the largest port in the Bodden waters between Barhöft and Ribnitz-Damgarten (marine radio - channel 15).

After 1990, the port of Barth has developed into a significant center for maritime tourism in the region.

Sailors and water sports enthusiasts from all over Germany and many parts of Europe come to the area to enjoy the charming maritime interplay of the Baltic Sea and the Bodden waters. The Barth harbor has modern berths. It is the largest harbor within the Bodden waters between Barhöft and Ribnitz-Damgarten and is the starting point for many a cruise into the Bodden waters or across the Baltic Sea to Scandinavia. Historic sailors are also often seen here during the year. Passenger ships to Zingst and Hiddensee also leave from the ballast box. Traditionally, the Barth sailing and harbor days with the shipyard days as well as numerous regattas take place in the city harbor every year in July. For many years in a row, the Barth harbor has been awarded the European environmental seal "Blue Flag" due to its very good environmental management and has also received the "Yellow Wave".

Traditionally, the Barth Harbour Days take place every year in July and numerous regattas are held. To the west of the town harbor is a repair yard with service facilities including a water filling station and winter storage for pleasure boats.
