Immerse yourself in a bygone world - the world of the Mueß villagers. Here - in this place - farmers, shepherds, cottagers and craftsmen once lived with their families. Several generations under one roof together with the animals.

Trace everyday life and the places where villagers used to live and work - in farmhouses and cottages, in barns and stables, on farms and meadows, fields and farmland.

Take a look into parlors, chambers, kitchens or even a grocer's store. Many rooms are furnished down to the last detail. In addition, display boards and showcases illustrate the development of a Mecklenburg village from the 17th to the beginning of the 20th century. You can currently visit: the North German hall house with a barn, the shepherd's cottage, the Büdnerei and the smithy, as well as exhibition areas on farm animal husbandry, rye growing and three-field farming.

We are currently rebuilding for you! We are expanding our museum offers for you!

We are currently unable to show you all parts of the grounds, buildings and exhibitions in the historic village ensemble. The village school and the children's museum can currently only be visited as part of special events and guided tours. The museum café will also be affected by the building site during the season. We are making a replacement so that you can continue to enjoy your visit to the museum with a small snack, coffee and cake.

Experience interesting and unforgettable things on the grounds of the Mueß Open-Air Museum: Spring and Advent markets, vacation activities, walking concerts, traditional dance evenings, a music festival, performances by the Low German Fritz Reuter Theater, museum hands-on days, art open days, herbal walks, children's festivals, and a variety of other events.uter walks, children's festivals, International Museum Day, church services, experience history, Sünndags in de Koek, historical actors, public guided tours, interesting workshops and other offers to marvel at, join in and enjoy.
