The museum ship "Luise", built in 1906, documents the working and living conditions of the Rügen coastal boatmen and the importance of coastal shipping for the island's population.
The museum ship "Luise" is a fully accessible and fully equipped coastal freighter and is particularly popular with technology enthusiasts and children. Launched in 1906, the motorsailer sailed the waters around Rügen until the 1960s, supplying the island's population with all the necessities of life. An exhibition in the hold shows, among other things, the goods transported and the original glow-head engine. The lodge provides an insight into the cramped living conditions of the coastal sailors. On the spacious open-air grounds directly adjacent to Göhren's south beach, there are also numerous navigation signs, fishing boats and cutters as well as exhibitions on fishing, sailmaking and shipbuilding.
