The publishing house "Anthonys Erben" printed the "Barther Tageblatt", founded in 1848, from 1900 to 1943.
Life & work of Martha Müller-Grählert
Born in Barth on Dec. 20, 1876, she wrote the poem "Mine Heimat," which became known as the "Ostseewellenlied" with the melody by Simon Krannig. Later it became world famous as "Nordseewellenlied" or "Friesenlied" and translated into many languages.
The history of the Dahlfeld family
In 1920, the Dahlfeld family, who had moved from Riga, bought the house and the publishing house, including the print shop. Martha Müller-Grählert was closely associated with Adolf Dahlfeld, who published a large number of poems and stories by her. She bequeathed her entire literary oeuvre to him in 1927.
Life and work of Wilhelm Schmidthild
Wilhelm Schmidthild, born in Hildesheim in 1876, was active in Barth from 1919 to 1927 as a drawing teacher at the secondary school, but also as a painter, graphic artist and book illustrator.
