The Meiningen Bridge over the Bodden Stream of the same name has small parking areas on the mainland side and also on the Zingst from where you have a fantastic view of the Barther and Bodstedt Bodden. From here you can watch the evening flight of the cranes.
The Meiningen Bridge has connected the mainland with the Fischland-Darß-Zingst Peninsula since 1910. Originally built as a railroad bridge for the Darßbahn, it was used for road traffic after the Second World War and developed into the region's central traffic artery. Due to its age, a temporary bridge around 200 m long with a lifting section was built in 2012, which still carries road, cycle and pedestrian traffic today. A rail link is also planned for the replacement construction.
