A vacation at FerienGut Dalwitz offers its guests souvenirs of a very special kind—and plenty to fill their “suitcase of longings,” such as the buzzing of bees in the lush farm garden, the clattering of storks, the clatter of hooves on the old cobblestones, and the sweeping views during a horseback ride through nature.....
The Dalwitz Vacation Estate is a huge adventure playground—and not just for the little ones: Where else can guests feel like real cowboys and help herd cattle on horseback? For those less experienced, the estate’s own breeding farm, “La Primera,” offers genuine South American Criollo horses for Western-style riding in the gaucho tradition. Meanwhile, aspiring young riders find joy in spending hours grooming and petting the horses or taking riding lessons. For many young guests, however, simply being able to run wild across the grounds is enough.
Charming names like “Hofmeisterwohnung” or “Jägerkate” bear witness to the former use of the now-historic buildings that house the vacation apartments. Lovingly renovated and decorated in a country house style, the furnishings clearly bear the signature of the estate’s owner, Lucy von Bassewitz, and her Uruguayan heritage; a touch of “estancia” exudes South American flair in the bright and individually furnished rooms. The atmosphere at FerienGut Dalwitz is relaxed and family-friendly. Particularly popular is the “Asado,” the barbecue held in the summer when the weather is nice, which Lucy von Bassewitz also brought with her from her homeland to Mecklenburg. Another gathering spot is the “Remise,” the farm restaurant located in the old horse stable.
Gut Dalwitz is a full-time working farm. Crop farming and livestock raising aren’t just a backdrop for the vacation—they’re at the heart of an ecological and nature-oriented farming system. Guests have the opportunity to experience a modern farm that completely avoids the use of chemicals and genetic engineering.
