The Mecklenburg Foundation preserves and tells the history and culture of Mecklenburg!

Since its establishment in 1973, the Mecklenburg Foundation has amassed a wide-ranging collection of Mecklenburgica and presented it in exhibitions, publications and events on the culture and history of Mecklenburg. Touring exhibitions, lectures, readings, and projects for the cultivation of Low German are also among the offerings of the Mecklenburg Foundation. The work of the foundation is supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The Mecklenburg Foundation presents the most beautiful and interesting pieces of its collection in the permanent exhibition Mecklenburg - so far, so near under the motto "In one hour through 300 years of Mecklenburg history" in the Schleswig-Holstein-Haus.

Every Wednesday and Sunday afternoon, the public presentations explain the planetary motions, the most beautiful constellations and the starry sky in general. This is done with the help of a projection on the seven-meter-high dome ceiling. Or on Fridays, in good weather, live with the telescope.
