Reinhard Buch’s “Fischländer Muse” stands right on the Ribnitz harbor promenade. The striking bronze sculpture combines contemporary art with a maritime atmosphere and invites visitors to explore it from different angles.
Located right on the harbor promenade in Ribnitz is the “Fischländer Muse”—a bronze sculpture by Reinhard Buch, a sculptor who lives in Hirschburg. The serene figure blends harmoniously into the maritime surroundings and is a particularly striking sight during a walk along the Bodden. Depending on the perspective, the sculpture appears different each time, deliberately leaving room for individual interpretations.
The design was created in 2009 as part of a competition to redesign the Ribnitz harbor. Commissioned by the city of Ribnitz-Damgarten, the figure was subsequently cast in bronze and officially unveiled on June 13, 2012. Since then, the approximately two-meter-long sculpture has combined art in public space with the unique charm of the Ribnitz harbor.
