Brick Gothic

As the former residence of the archdeacon, it was built around 1450 in the style of North German brick Gothic. Like many other Gothic buildings around the Marienkirchturm, the archdeaconry was badly damaged in World War 2 and reconstructed at considerable expense.

Of particular importance is the richly articulated and with wind holes decorated stepped gable on the north side.
