Personal, humorous, and surprising: Actor and author Oliver Wnuk reads his own writings and shares stories from his life—ranging from keen observations to the absurdities of everyday life and the big questions of life.

Wnuk Thinks Out Loud and Reads Aloud
—an autobiographical reading show
Oliver Wnuk is always searching for happiness:
Where is it, when does it happen, why, and how much of it does he get?
His collaboration with publications such as the Frankfurter Rundschau (FR7) has resulted in columns that are at times
thought-provoking and at times amusing, yet always insightful, which have been compiled into the
"Besser wird’s nicht" (It Doesn’t Get Any Better), published on February 26 by Lappan-Verlag,
from which he will read, narrate, act out—in short: perform.
“It Won’t Get Any Better” is not a sigh of resignation, but an invitation: it will never be better than this
moment if we don’t make the most of it. Oliver Wnuk—actor, father,
hypochondriac, and incorrigible pragmatist—dissects life’s small and large
demands: the EGO that always cries out “more!”; friendships that
need to be nurtured or let go; norms that stifle; “reality & appearance”
on set and in real life; the top 5 things people ultimately regret;
the art of staying quiet when everything is screaming; and the question of how to remain human in a KIZ future
. Amid the Christmas string-light frenzy, a
breathtakingly absurd ear study, and an unforgettable night in the
forensic medicine department, a tone emerges that is both lighthearted and wise: humorous, tender,
and free of kitsch. Wnuk observes without bitterness and encourages readers to view themselves with kindness
. A book to make you smile, choke up, come together—and to
share with others.
Wnuk made his breakthrough as ULF in the cult comedy series “STROMBERG.”
As HINNERK FELDMANN in the hit ZDF series “Nord Nord Mord,” he has been delighting
nearly 9–10 million viewers regularly for 15 years now.
His self-written ARD series “Das Leben ist kein Kindergarten” (Life Isn’t a Kindergarten), in which he also
played the lead role, and the ZDF family series “Die Bachmanns” are among his most recent
successes.
Oliver Wnuk, born in 1976 in Konstanz, has been writing ever since he began acting: Over the past
25 years, he has appeared as an actor in over 135 film and television productions; at the
same time, he has written novels, numerous screenplays and children’s books, plays and
radio plays, as well as essays for print media.

Notable comments on the book:

With brutal honesty and openness, Oliver Wnuk reflects on himself and life, asking
all the questions we all have. But he isn’t afraid of the answers at all.
It’s beautiful, but also light, thought-provoking, and very rare.
— Katrin Bauerfeind

Oliver Wnuk writes the way he plays: dreamy and precise, bewildered and powerful.
He often loses—and that’s how he wins! And it’s always hilarious because it’s so sad—I love it.
