The gallery at the Haus des Gastes invites you to a special encounter with Berlin artists Gisela Eichardt and Jürgen Schmidt-Lingner.
Under the title “What Must Be Preserved,” the sculptor and printmaker, along with the painter and printmaker, present works that focus on the beauty and vulnerability of nature and humanity.
In his watercolors and paintings, Jürgen Schmidt-Lingner focuses in particular on the often-overlooked diversity of wildflowers and landscapes. Calligraphic elements and influences from Asian art lend his works a special poetic touch.
Gisela Eichardt combines printmaking and sculpture. Her “Forest Symphony” series explores the beauty and transformation of our forests. Her sculptures, in turn, speak to human vulnerability, imperfection, and inner strength.
The exhibition invites visitors to take a closer look—at nature right on our doorstep as well as at what defines us as human beings. Both artists are united by the desire to make beauty visible and to raise awareness of what needs to be preserved.
