The film accompanies the creation of a dance performance in which 90-year-old Éva Fahidi talks to a young dancer about her life and her fate as a survivor of Auschwitz.
Can a dance performance be all of these things together? A love of movement and painful memories of life, trauma therapy, childlike play and intimate dialog? Yes, it is possible and even in a radiant, exhilarating way.
This movie lets its viewers recharge their batteries. It sounds strange, but you benefit from the calm presence and serenity of Éva Fahidi, from her wisdom and dignity and the openness of the young dancer Emese Cuhorka, who then becomes a medium for the old lady.
"The Euphoria Of Being" was awarded the "kinokino Audience Award" by Bayerischer Rundfunk and 3sat at the 35th Munich International Documentary Film Festival.
