An entertaining evening with selected silent films, accompanied by live music, at the romantically situated Schmachter See (duration: 60 to 90 minutes)
Silent film art with live music at Schmachter See
The WANDERKINO - a special kind of mobile cinema experience - presents classics of early filmmaking: from adorable slapstick comedy to monumental works and experimental film gems. The films are projected in true style using original 16mm technology.
The films are accompanied by two trained musicians, who masterfully blend music and moving images into a harmonious whole with changing instrumental line-ups. The result is a viewing and listening experience that is as humorous as it is touching.
All the technology - from projection and sound to lighting - is housed in a lovingly preserved vintage fire engine: a Magirus Deutz from 1969.
As a guest in Binz, the traveling cinema is showing these film gems:
- Flying Elephants - Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy (1927 | 17 min)
- One o'clock at night - Charlie Chaplin (1916 | 24 min)
- Cops - Buster and the Police - Buster Keaton (1922 | 18 min)
A nostalgic movie experience in the open air - charming, lively and unforgettable.
