Our popular seal cruises, where you as a guest can become part of a scientific team, are also firmly on the timetable this season. The return of the animals to this area of the Baltic Sea is still considered an absolute sensation.
During the trip out to the Great Stubber, a rocky elevation in the Greifswald Bodden, a marine biologist from the Discover Rügen team will provide you with specialist information about the historical and current development of grey seals in the Baltic Sea and the importance of scientific, systematic observations (monitoring).
With a bit of luck, you will then have the opportunity to experience seals in the wild and be involved in the monitoring of the animals in a vivid way. The data collected will then be made available to the relevant organizations such as the WWF.
