Lecture with accompanying pictures about personal travel experiences | Tim Evers: Traveling the world as a family
Under the title "Travel stories - on the road with people from here", residents of the city or the surrounding area talk about their very individual experiences and encounters in the form of a picture presentation. The event takes place in the library, in a club atmosphere, so to speak. Space is limited and we recommend making a reservation. Admission: EUR 5.00.
Traveling has always been a topic that has met with an air of incomprehension. "Isn't that too dangerous?", "How can you afford it?" and finally, again and again: "And you want to do that with your daughter?" These reactions are as common as they are normal, and in principle we understand them, but: travel is one of the greatest privileges we have, and how can we not want to use it? How can we be aware of the diversity of our planet and the facets of human relationships and cultures and not try to see at least a fraction of it in the short time we spend on our beautiful earth? Our appetite for the world was whetted with our first backpacking trip, and since then we have strapped on our backpacks again and again, coming home a little richer each time despite empty accounts. This hasn't changed with the birth of our daughter and the curiosity about the world and the realization that shared experiences count much more than things you can buy is one of the most important things we want to give her. It is the time we spend together on adventures that motivates us. At the same time, it gives us the chance to see the world through different eyes. We set off to see new things, gain new perspectives and question our own point of view. And what could be better than seeing the richness of this world through children's eyes?(Text: Tim Evers)
