Singer-songwriter concert featuring Emma Elisabeth and REEMA (aka Mimi Müller-Westernhagen)
Just as many songbirds regularly fly to their wintering grounds, Emma Elisabeth and Reema are returning to Germany this fall for their small but delightful “The Two Songbirds” tour.
The two artists—hailed by the international press—from Sweden and England have devised a special concept for this tour: they combine their songs into a joint program and accompany each other musically on stage. In the classic tradition of singer-songwriters, they use guitar, piano, and two outstanding voices to sing of a multifaceted world of hope, love, grief, and self-discovery—a world these talented introverts reveal to their audience through their stories.
Music media have previously praised Emma Elisabeth for her blend of indie pop, folk rock, and Americana—which is strongly rooted in the ’70s and ’80s—drawing comparisons to Stevie Nicks or Carole King, while Reema feels right at home in folk with a modern twist and has been described, with her crystal-clear voice, as “bold, honest, and truly (truly) beautiful” and “out of this world.” She, too, draws comparisons to such notable figures as the Canadian musician Joni Mitchell.
These experienced artists can already look back on remarkable careers that include the release of several studio albums and international live tours across Europe, Japan, and as far as America. In addition to songs from their existing discography, the live duo says the set list will also include a few new tracks. So it promises to be an exciting, varied, and—for some—moving evening, or as the British would put it in their dry, sometimes slightly morbid way: There’s some real quality on offer here, and you’ll literally “kill two (song)birds with one stone”!
