It is a hot summer in 1990 in a village in Thuringia. Maria, soon to be 19, lives with her boyfriend Johannes on his parents' farm and would rather lose herself in books than finish school. The tension of upheaval is in the air when she accidentally meets Henner, the farmer on the neighboring farm. One touch is enough to ignite an overwhelming passion between Maria and the unconventionally charismatic man twice her age. In an atmosphere vibrating with possibilities, an all-consuming love full of longing and desire secretly develops.
