The band of Gundermann
Thanks to the award-winning feature film "Gundermann" from 2018 and the documentary "Gundermann Revier", which was nominated for the Grimme Prize, many people became aware of Die Seilschaft for the first time. However, there are countless loyal fans who have been following the band for decades.
After Gundermann's death in 1998, the band initially disbanded. Thirteen years later, they reunited with Christian Haase as their new singer. The Seilschaft not only carries on its own musical and Gundermann's lyrical legacy, but has also released new albums in recent years that have been able to build on the old successes with a powerful sound and deep poetry.
Away from the media mainstream, Die Seilschaft present themselves as a refreshingly down-to-earth rock'n'roll band, the likes of which are becoming increasingly rare these days. With topical and authentic themes and music arranged in a variety of ways, the band manages to incorporate their tradition in a tasteful way while sounding fresh and innovative in order to continue telling their own story.
