Shami's path to Shaolin
After the great success of their last tours, the legendary monks of Shaolin Kung Fu are returning to Germany in 2026 with a completely new production: Shami's Way to Shaolin. Over five million people have already marveled at their unique skills in more than 6,000 performances on all five continents. The new show combines tradition, mysticism and breathtaking body art and tells the story of a child who searches for her master and enters the mysterious world of the Shaolin monastery.
For more than 1,500 years now, the Shaolin Temple in China has been the spiritual center of Zen Buddhism and at the same time home to an incomparable martial arts tradition. Generations of monks there have preserved a unique combination of spirituality, discipline and physical art and brought it to the world. For centuries, students have sought their master here to learn the traditional fighting exercises and develop spiritual maturity, physical strength and mastery of their Qi.
The new production focuses on the story of a child (Shami) who finds his way to the famous Shaolin monastery. There he seeks a master who initiates him into the secrets of the millennia-old kung fu tradition and life in the temple. On his journey, the audience experiences exams, tests of courage, the hard everyday life of training in the temple and the special relationship between student and master.
Shami's path to Shaolin combines the spiritual depth of Zen Buddhism with spectacular physical feats. The monks masterfully demonstrate Hard Qi Gong: sticks and iron rods shatter on their bodies, spearheads bend on sensitive parts of the body, while they make the seemingly impossible possible with precision and concentration. The spectacle is complemented by impressive video footage from the original location, the Shaolin Temple in China, which provides deep insights into the humble monastery life and the hard training.
A special element is the direct involvement of the audience: the monks teach simple breathing exercises and pass on their philosophy directly. They show that everyone, regardless of age or background, can master their body with spirit and discipline and unleash unimagined powers. For over 30 years, the Shaolin monks have been bringing their unique combination of spirituality, discipline and energy to the stages of the world. With Shami's Way to Shaolin in 2026, they continue this tradition and present a production that not only tells their spectacular skills, but also a profound story. This new production offers the audience an intense, emotional and at the same time very personal perspective on the world of Shaolin.
