Life deep down on the ocean floor is wonderful. Nothing is lacking in the Sea King’s castle; everywhere there is wealth and splendor. But the Little Mermaid is growing increasingly bored, longing for the realm above the surface of the sea. When she is finally allowed to surface, she falls in love with the land, its people—and the prince. Getting there, among the people, becomes her most fervent wish. She trades her voice and her joy so that she can have legs and walk on land. Will she find happiness there?
