Good news for all fitness enthusiasts: A mobile pump track is coming to Neustrelitz from August 19 to September 16, 2026.
For four weeks, the facility will be available free of charge to anyone interested at the fairgrounds right next to the skate park, inviting children, teens, and adults to be active together, try out new sports, and strike up conversations with one another. The pump track is much more than just a sports facility—it is intended to serve as an open meeting place that brings together people of different generations and interests, creating space for physical activity, interaction, and shared experiences.
Along with the pump track, a total of four free, 90-minute training sessions will be offered. These will take place on August 20, August 24, and August 31, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. each day, as well as on September 5 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. A special highlight awaits visitors as part of the Long Night of Art and Shopping: On September 12, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., an additional training day will be offered.
BMX bikes, mountain bikes, scooters, balance bikes, and helmets will be provided free of charge for all training sessions. Bringing your own equipment is therefore not required, but you are welcome to do so. Alongside the training sessions, children and teens can look forward to additional creative and athletic hands-on activities organized in collaboration with the Kunsthaus Neustrelitz and other project partners. This gives clubs and organizations the opportunity to showcase their programs and engage with families, children, and teens. The goal of the project is to raise awareness of existing recreational and community engagement opportunities, facilitate new connections, and actively involve young people in shaping their living environment.
Further information on the supporting program, the participating clubs and organizations, and the creative hands-on activities will be published in a timely manner via the local press, the website of the Royal City of Neustrelitz, and the project partners’ social media channels.
The project is funded by the federal program “Demokratie Leben!” (Living Democracy!) of the Federal Ministry of Education, Family, Seniors, Women, and Youth, and by the City of Neustrelitz. Additional funding is provided by Raiffeisenbank Mecklenburg Lake District eG and Stadtwerke Neustrelitz GmbH. Kunsthaus Neustrelitz e.V. and the City of Neustrelitz extend their heartfelt thanks to the supporters and, together with their project partners, look forward to four diverse weeks full of activity, creativity, and social interaction, and cordially invite all residents to visit the pump track.
