Käthe Kollwitz and Ernst Barlach are often compared to one another. Both created powerful drawings, prints, and sculptures, yet each pursued their own artistic paths. This multimedia reading, featuring diaries, letters, and prose, sheds light on their intellectual kinship, their different life paths, and their shared commitment to opposing war and inhumanity. The result is a moving, hopeful evening featuring drama, music, images, and films.
