An empty promise, big dreams and a game that keeps getting bigger: The discovery of America takes shape on stage. Christopher Columbus promises gold and fame, struggles for support and drives his crew out to sea. Hope and doubt are closely intertwined - every step forward could just as easily be the beginning of failure.
The journey becomes a tightrope act. Fear, hunger and mistrust grow, but the game must not stop. When land finally comes into sight, triumph seems within reach. But reality defies expectations. The great discovery turns into a troubled spectacle in which power, greed and self-deception take over the roles - and the supposed victory takes on a bitter aftertaste.
