Operetta by Emmerich Kálmán
Budapest around 1910: the celebrated chanson singer Sylva Varescu is secretly in a relationship with Edwin, the son of a Viennese prince. His parents are outraged and arrange an engagement to a comtesse in keeping with their status. But then Sylva, supposedly married, turns up at the engagement party in Vienna. Now Edwin wants to fight for her. Can their love transcend social boundaries?
Emmerich Kálmán's masterpiece is one of the great moments in operetta history. Hits such as "Ganz ohne Weiber geht die Chose nicht", "Das ist die Liebe" or "Die Mädis, die Mädis" captured the hearts of the audience - unforgettable melodies between waltz elegance and fiery Csárdás sounds.
