Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Serenade No. 10 in B-flat major, K. 361 (“Gran Partita”) Franz Schubert: Symphony in B minor, D 759 (“Unfinished”)
The second symphony concert on October 9, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ernst-Barlach-Theater brings together different musical worlds: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s masterful Wind Serenade No. 10 in B-flat major, K. 361 (“Gran Partita”) meets Franz Schubert’s Symphony in B minor, D. 759 (“The Unfinished”). Salieri, Mozart’s supposed rival, described the Adagio of the “Gran Partita”—deeply moved—as the “voice of God,” full of insatiable longing. Schubert’s “Unfinished” offers a gripping contrast: Its dark and eerie movements leave it open to this day whether a cheerful finale could ever have followed.
