Sound, color, steps, footfalls: The Kunsthaus Lübz is bringing a painting to life—and celebrating its award for art education in the process.
A picture hangs on the wall. Not this one.
This picture comes to life. It makes sounds. It takes on color. It is run through, walked through, and stepped on.
On Saturday, October 3, sound, color, and physical movement will come together at the Kunsthaus Lübz. Under the title “Aus-, Bei- und Rück-Sch/T)ritte,” Jan Keller, Carmen Spiering, and Johannes Terbach will present a performance art piece: Jan Keller provides the sound. Carmen Spiering works with color and steps, while Johannes Terbach works with color, steps, and kicks.
Even the words don’t stand still:
Aus-tritt.
Bei-tritt.
Rück-tritt.
Schritt.
Tritt.
On German Unity Day, they bring their historical and social echoes into the space. What emerges from this cannot be hung on the wall in advance. The image must first be walked.
And there’s something to celebrate: On September 27, the Kunsthaus Lübz in Schwerin will receive the sponsorship award for its art education work. We’ll bring this award with us to the evening of activities. No stuffy ceremony. No standing still. We’ll celebrate in motion—together with the people who visit the Kunsthaus, engage with it, and fill it with life.
Anyone who wants to know how a picture is “walked” is cordially invited. Or, more precisely: cordially pre-invited.
