St. Martin's Day with St. Martin's play. The lantern procession with horse and St. Martin's rider through the main street begins at Schmachter See. Please bring lanterns.
Start:approx. 5:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Church in Binz
End:around 7:00 p.m.
After a welcome by Ms. Handt, a musical and theatrical highlight awaits you:
“The Shared Cloak”—a St. Martin’s play with music and object theater
Featuring:Marie-Luise Gunst & Stefan Hasselmann (Saitenstrassen Kultur)
Duration:approx. 25 minutes
In an old clothes chest, the legend of Saint Martin comes to life—as told by the cloak itself. With music, songs, and poetic imagery, two actors transport young and old alike into a world where sharing, compassion, and togetherness regain their meaning.
A heartwarming, humorous, and touching story for St. Martin’s Day—for families, children, and everyone who wants to remember that sharing makes the world a little brighter.
Afterward, Ms. Handt will offer a blessing before the torchlight procession sets off from the Protestant church toward the Catholic church.
There, the celebration will conclude with a speech by the Catholic pastor.
An evening full of light, music, and fellowship—we look forward to seeing you there!
