Concerto for wind instruments and organ
The ensemble "Splendido Vento" was founded in February 2023 by Daria Jastrzhemskaja (repetiteur for trumpet, tuba and horn at the hmt Rostock) and her friends, who were still students at the hmt Rostock at the time of its foundation. The core concept of the project is to establish regular concert series for wind instruments and organ in churches.
Since its foundation, 12 concerts have already taken place in various churches with different instrumentations. In the beginning, the project was simply called "Organ & Brass", before the current name "Splendido Vento" was created. In German, this means "radiant wind" - a name that the founder believes best reflects the ideal image of music for wind instruments and organ.
The year 2025 marked a turning point for the ensemble. Andreas Luhn (lecturer for tuba at the hmt Rostock) and Daria Jastrzhemskaja organized a concert under the title "Forever Brass & Organ" in the Nikolaikirche Rostock and the church Warnemünde. This project raised the profile of the brass department at the hmt Rostock and brought Daria Jastrzhemskaja in particular great attention as the founder and director of "Splendido Vento". Since then, the ensemble has received a growing number of requests and has already made a name for itself in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern music scene. (hmt-rostock.de)
The concert in St. Peter and Paul's Church will feature works by Walter, Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart, Fauré, Gigout, Fletcher, Körling and others.
