Special service marking the conclusion of the 75th anniversary of the Schifferkirche in Ahrenshoop. Featuring Pastor Ines Dobbe, retired Pastor Ulrich Kasparick, the Fischländer Kantorei choir, and KMD Anne-Dore Baumgarten on the organ.
To mark the festive conclusion of the 75th anniversary of the Schifferkirche in Ahrenshoop, the Protestant Parish of Prerow invites you to a celebratory worship service under the theme “A Celebration of Gratitude.” The focus will be on giving thanks and looking back on seven decades of a special church building in the Baltic resort of Ahrenshoop—a postwar modernist structure that, since its consecration on October 14, 1951, has remained a defining feature of the cultural and spiritual life of this artists’ village.
The liturgy will be led by Pastor Ines Dobbe, who, as pastor of the Prerow parish, is responsible for the Schifferkirche, together with retired Pastor Ulrich Kasparick, who has served the congregation for many years as a resort pastor. The Fischländer Kantorei will provide musical accompaniment under the direction of Church Music Director Anne-Dore Baumgarten, who plays a key role in shaping the musical life at the Schifferkirche and will also play the Wegscheider organ on this day.
This festive service marks the solemn conclusion of the Schifferkirche’s anniversary series, bringing together the congregation, guests, and all those connected to the town. The service is intended for both locals and vacationers in Fischland-Darß-Zingst who wish to experience the conclusion of the anniversary year in the special atmosphere of the thatched-roof Schifferkirche.
