In honor of his 90th birthday, his artistic works, which are strongly influenced by the Baltic Sea and Bodden landscape, will be exhibited.
The exhibition honors the artist, who was born in Althagen in 1936, on his 90th birthday. Fretwurst, who is well-known and respected beyond the region, has lived with his wife, the painter Antje Fretwurst-Colberg, in his parents' house in Dändorf since 1997. After studying art education in Greifswald, he studied free painting and graphics at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee in the 1960s and then lived in Berlin for many years. His work is characterized by the Berlin School. However, it is also strongly influenced by the local motifs of the Baltic Sea and Bodden landscape, which also determine the character of his artistic signature. Works from all phases of his career are on display, including some that have never been shown before.
