Botany – Course at the Greifswald Botanical Garden with Dr. Sabrina Rilke Part 4
Asters are among the late-blooming plants.
So today, we’ll take a closer look at their family, the Asteraceae. It’s important to look closely today, because not all flowers are as big as sunflowers and artichokes. We’ll try to understand composite flowers and umbelliferous flowers. Just two families, but soooo fascinating.
We’ve planned five tours throughout the year at the Greifswald Arboretum and the Botanical Garden on the theme of “Observing Plants.” We’ll use a magnifying glass to spot small details. We’ll set aside two hours for each walk to explore the different species in line with the theme. If we get into interesting conversations, we don’t have to end exactly on time.
Please bring a magnifying glass if you have one.
