The Theaterwerft Presents: GUEST PERFORMANCE
SOLO without Sunny
A theatrical evening by and starring Inga Bruderek
In 1980, the film “Solo Sunny” hit theaters in the GDR. Elke Mark was so impressed by the film that she named her daughter Sunny. She wanted to give her every opportunity that had been denied to her. She enrolled her in dance and singing lessons and paved the way for her career in the entertainment industry. Years later, as an adult, Sunny encounters the same hierarchies and structures that trap her in dependence and paternalism. And just like her idol once did, she tries to break free, always searching for her own identity, for what is authentic. A play about women’s life paths in love, career, and society.
Concept and Performance: Inga Bruderek
