Botany – Course at the Greifswald Arboretum with Dr. Sabrina Rilke | Part 5
We’ll wrap up our botany course with the colorful fall season and try to learn to identify the causes of leaf coloration.
The cause lies within every cell, but where does the breakdown begin in the leaf? And which species display particularly vibrant colors? The display of colors is incredible when you look closely, and of course we won’t overlook the colorful fruits of this season either.
We’ve planned five walks throughout the year at the Greifswald Arboretum and the Botanical Garden on the theme of “Observing Plants.” We’ll use a magnifying glass to spot small details. Each tour will last two hours, during which we’ll explore different plant species in line with the theme. If the discussions get interesting, we don’t have to end on time.
