To mark World Fair Trade Day, there will be a quiz wheel and samples of fairly traded fruit in the World Shop before a short documentary (30 min, 2024, WDR/ Arte, aged 14 and over) about working conditions in the orange harvest in Italy is shown there at 3 pm. Participation in the film screening is possible without registration.
From May 5 to 9, the Weltladen Schwerin at Puschkinstr. 18 will have a special shop window. A shop window for harvesting. The tropical fruits on display will be given away to customers. Each fruit is provided with food for thought. In the store itself, a memory game invites customers to learn more about the international fruit trade.
Together with more than 300 worldshops across Germany, we are drawing attention to poor working conditions and unfairly distributed profits in the trade in oranges, mangoes and bananas on World Fair Trade Day on May 9.
