Two actors take the audience on a journey through Shakespeare’s dramatic universe. Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and many other characters come together in a fast-paced production by Theater Phoebus. With humor, a joy for the craft, and astonishing transformations, Elizabethan theater meets modern stagecraft.
What happens when two actors perform their way through Shakespeare’s entire dramatic universe? In “SHAKE IT! The Shakespeare Show,” Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and many other characters come to life at a breakneck pace. With great enthusiasm, humor, and astonishing transformations, the performers take the audience on a journey through the most famous works of world literature.
In the process, Elizabethan theater meets the modern era. Comedy and madness collide with profound philosophical questions, while the boundaries between the individual plays continually blur. “The world is out of joint,” as Hamlet says. But for the two actors, the motto is: “The show must go on!”
“SHAKE IT!” is a fast-paced and entertaining tribute to William Shakespeare. The production shows just how alive his characters and stories still are today and invites the audience to rediscover the great playwright with fresh eyes.
