"Recipient unknown" - Scenic reading with Gad Kaynar-Kissinger and Doron Kaynar-Kissinger

The disintegration of a friendship between an American Jew and his German business partner

The novel "Adress umknown"/Empfänger unbekannt", first published in 1938, describes in letter form the disintegration of a friendship between an American Jew and his German business partner who returned to Nazi Germany in 1932. The novel describes the murderous anti-Semitism of the first years of National Socialist rule in Germany in a masterly narrative style. The story is more relevant today than ever: it shows how political ideology can destroy human bonds and poses pressing questions about guilt. Loyalty and retribution.

Gad Kaynar-Kissinger, born in Tel Aviv in 1947 as the son of German emigrants, is Professor em at Tel Aviv University. In addition to his work as a dramaturge, he is recognized as a translator of plays, particularly from German and Norwegian into Hebrew. He was awarded the title "Knight of the First Rank" by the Norwegian King in 2009.

Doron Kaynar-Kissinger is an actor, storyteller, workshop leader and chairman of the Israeli Storytelling Association.
