Reading time at IFC Strandzeit for families with children
June is beach time - IFC beach time! The International Football Club Rostock invites you to a special weekend at the Strand Arena Warnemünde on June 6 and 7, 2026 . A large sandy area full of possibilities awaits you directly at the first beach entrance: Sports, games, music, readings and relaxing moments with a view of the Baltic Sea.
Saturday is all about movement and encounters. Whether you want to watch or take part - you can expect a colorful program of sports activities, games and spontaneous matches in the sand. The whole thing will be complemented by readings, talks and music - accompanied by the sound of the sea and a summery atmosphere.
A special highlight:
On Sunday, June 7 at 3 pm,Inga Faust will read from the children's book "Im Dschungel wird gewählt".
In this clever and entertaining fable, the animals have had enough of the self-centered lion king and call for democratic elections. Suddenly, the jungle becomes a political stage: the lion runs again, a not always honest monkey gets involved, a down-to-earth snake and a social sloth also compete for votes. There are discussions, arguments, posters and promises - sometimes serious, sometimes tongue-in-cheek. Who will win over the animal voters? And what actually makes a good election?
The book was developed together with children and explains topics such as democracy, election campaigns and co-determination in a playful way - exciting, funny and close to the lives of young listeners.
Sunday is designed as a family day. Children and young people can look forward to numerous games and sports activities, get creative or simply let off steam while the grown-ups enjoy the varied program.
As an integral part of Rostock's sports and cultural scene, the IFC presents itself in all its facets this weekend - with offers from various disciplines and special activities for the beach: yoga in the sand, small competitions, casual games such as roundnet or frisbee and much more.
