Gessin – In the run-up to the state election in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Dennis Burmeister, the direct candidate for the DIE LINKE party, is seeking direct dialogue with local residents. He accepted an invitation to an open town hall meeting at the Mittelhof in Gessin to discuss current challenges facing rural areas.
Focus on the Community Forum
The meeting in Gessin will focus on key issues facing rural areas: from regional development and strengthening village communities to supporting local cultural projects. Citizens are invited to share their questions, requests, and concerns directly. A central focus of the discussion will be the question of how quality of life and sustainability in rural areas—away from metropolitan centers—can be ensured in the long term.
About the Person: Who is Dennis Burmeister?
Background & Profession: Born in Malchin in 1975, Burmeister, a resident of Gielow, completed a masonry apprenticeship before studying at the Anklam School of Graphic Arts and Design; he has since worked successfully as a freelance graphic designer.
Author & Cultural Creator: He gained national recognition, among other things, as the author of pop culture works such as the internationally acclaimed book “Depeche Mode Monument”.
Political Engagement: He has extensive experience in local politics and already actively represents citizens as a member of the Mecklenburg Lake District Council as well as on his party’s district executive committee.
Social Engagement: Burmeister has been deeply involved in local associations and initiatives for years, organizing democracy festivals and exhibitions. A particular focus of his work is the practical implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in rural areas.
