State elections are coming up in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: a new state parliament will be elected on September 20, 2026. To mark the occasion, the European Integration Center (EIZ) Rostock is hosting an information event at AWF Arbeitsförderungs- und Fortbildungswerk GmbH on 10 June 2026 at 9:00 am.
The event, which will last around 90 minutes, will convey the most important basics about the state election in an understandable and compact way. The focus will be on the structure and tasks of the state parliament, the legal framework and key aspects of electoral law. It also explains the differences and responsibilities between state, federal and European politics.
Another focus is on the parties standing for election: Who is running, who are the leading candidates and what issues shape the election manifestos? A brief look at the history of the Landtag will also help to better understand current political developments.
The event is aimed at anyone who wants to find out more, better understand political contexts and be well prepared for the election. In addition to the lecture, there will be room for questions, discussion and exchange.
