In the exhibition - Plant. Light. Machine. - analog and digital photographic art by the artist Peter C. Beyer is shown, exposing the field of tension between plant and machine. Where are the intersections, where are the aesthetic progressions? How does a natural intelligence show itself in relation to a machine reality?
The exhibition- FLANZE. LIGHT. MASCHINE. shows analog and digital photographic art by the artist Peter C. Beyer, which exposes the field of tension between plant and machine. What are the intersections, where are the aesthetic boundaries and similarities? How does a natural intelligence show itself in relation to a machine reality? Fiat Lux. The origin of life. Light flows through all living creatures. Growth, development and decay determine evolution in all its vital forms. The energy that leads to appearance is primordial and incomprehensible. Light as a form of abstract intelligence that motivates all evolution is the primal force. Both in artificial and natural systems. Infinite and always constructive. Processes of shape formation are brought to light in photographic works from the darkroom when, among other things, light shadows of a photogram become visible in the photochemical process. After studying fine art at the HBK Braunschweig and the Academy of Media Arts (KHM) in Cologne, PFLANZE. LIGHT. MASCHINE. is the first solo exhibition of the Stralsund-born artist. With this exhibition, Peter C. Beyer returns to his photographic origins after intensive artistic exploration in the field of moving image art. His work has already been presented several times both nationally and internationally. For example at the Centre Pompidou, Paris and Art Cologne. He is represented by LightCone (Paris). The artist lives and works in Stralsund.
