Ulrike Hausmann, THE Boogie Pianist from Dresden
Through her many musical endeavors, Ulrike Hausmann has gained widespread recognition as a powerful yet sensitive, highly accomplished blues and boogie pianist whose unorthodox original compositions command attention.
Joint performances at the legendary “Fabrik” in Hamburg (August 8, 2010, 2016, and 2022) with Vince Weber and Axel Zwingenberger—who invited her on stage for a joint session with Charlie Watts—rank among the major highlights of her impressive career to date. Likewise, the “Boogie Round The Globe” concerts in Hamburg and Dresden with Jan Preston, Australia’s great boogie and ragtime pianist; her repeated participation in the international “Jazz In Town” festival in Berlin; at the “Festival de Jazz ‘Sim Copans’ de Souillac” (F); the “Boogie Woogie Festival Cambrai” (F), “Axel Zwingenberger’s Boogie Woogie News,” at the Metropol in Vienna, and annually at the International Dixieland Festival in Dresden.
She is just as at home at a bar piano as she is at major festivals.
Her first solo CD, “Session By Myself,” was released in 2011, followed by the CD “Jumpin’ In The Darkness” in 2019.
