Josias Ender grew up between farm fields and the edge of the forest in the middle of nowhere in Baden-Württemberg, then moved to Freiburg to study and later to Berlin to live. He now lives there and imparts life lessons to unsuspecting teenagers.
His music combines subtle lyrics with melodies both big and small, delivered in a boyish yet raspy-soft, hazy vocal style. Accompanying this is a guitar that, in its introspective melancholy, takes on a voice all its own—and in the louder moments, brings a burst of acoustic indie rock to the stage.
His sung poetry, his poetic vocals, are about talking birds, pajamas and cell phones, concrete buildings and bears—and sometimes even about you. Following his EP series From the Forests to the Cities (2015) and From the Cities to the Forests (2017)—which he recorded and released himself—his debut album Pajamas in the Wind on the indie label unserallereins, which expands on his previous acoustic sound with some electronic elements and was recorded and produced in collaboration with Thomas Wosnitza and Johannes Stöckholzer from the band Tipps für Wilhelm.
