Two days in the wilderness for parents and children: spending the night in a covered wagon, cooking together over a campfire, tracking animals, discovering wild plants, carving, playing, and experiencing the fall forest by day and by night.
Wandelbande invites parents and children to join them for a wilderness weekend in Grünow near Neustrelitz from October 16 to 18, 2026.
We’ll set up camp on the edge of the Müritz National Park and spend two days outdoors. Together, we’ll observe animals, look for tracks, and learn how to tell the difference between, for example, martens and raccoons. We’ll gather edible wild plants, practice woodcarving and fire-making, and explore the forest through stealth games and adventure activities.
In the evenings, we’ll cook together over an open fire, tell stories, and discover what happens in the forest after dark. We’ll spend the night in unheated covered wagons on mattresses.
The weekend will be led by Jef Leyssens, a certified and experienced wilderness educator. The group is limited to 25 participants.
Location: Covered Wagon Campground, Am Nationalpark 31, 17237 Grünow
Cost: €180 for adults, €110 for children, including lodging and meals
