Two days outdoors for parents and children: sleeping in a covered wagon, cooking over a campfire, tracking animals, discovering wild plants, carving, and playing—and discovering together all the creatures that roam the autumn forest, day and night.
Wandelbande invites parents and children to join them for a wilderness weekend in Grünow near Neustrelitz from October 16 to 18, 2026.
We’ll set up camp on the edge of the Müritz National Park and spend two days together outdoors. What animals are around? Whose tracks are these? What can we eat? And how does the forest change when it gets dark? We’ll observe, listen, track animals, and sharpen our senses.
We’ll gather edible wild plants, practice woodcarving and building fires, and explore the forest through stealth games and adventure activities. The goal isn’t to check off as many activities as possible, but to spend time together outdoors, try new things, and get to know the forest better.
In the evenings, we cook together over an open fire and tell stories. We spend the night in unheated covered wagons on mattresses.
The weekend is led by Jef Leyssens, a certified and experienced wilderness educator. The group is limited to 25 participants.
