Nonverbal theater performance from Ukraine for children ages 8 and up, teens, and adults
"PAPIR" brings an extraordinary theater performance from Ukraine to the stage! This interdisciplinary, nonverbal production, directed by Olena Rosstalna, combines theater, movement, music, and visual art into a special experience for the whole family. At its heart is the story of a small person in a vast, ever-changing world.
In this production, paper is more than just a material: it becomes a symbol of imagination, vulnerability, change, and creative power. From something seemingly simple, something new emerges—an idea, a character, a story.
What makes this piece special is the active participation of the audience. Even before the performance begins, visitors are invited to create their own paper figures in a small creative workshop. These figures then become part of the action on stage.
“PAPIR” invites everyone to marvel, create, and discover new perspectives together. The performance offers space for imagination and connection and is aimed equally at children, teens, and adults.
A special theatrical experience that shows how a world can emerge from paper—and how new hope grows from shared creativity.
The event is a collaboration between the association “Deutsch-Ukrainische Partnerschaft - DUP-MV e.V.” and the St. Spiritus Greifswald sociocultural center.
It is supported by the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as part of the regional partnership between Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the Chernihiv region.
