"Open Monument Day" AND CHILDREN'S MILL DAY

The Kröpelin Mill is also participating in Open Monument Day 2026. It will open its doors and be happy to offer tours all the way up to the mill cap. Learn lots of interesting facts about mills, mill history, and the technology used by the Käding miller family.

The “Kröpeliner Mühle” e. V. Friends Association cordially invites all children and families to an exciting Children’s Mill Day!

The program features informative guided tours and visits to the historic mill. The mill mouse “Mühli von der Mühl” will also be there to share stories about her exciting adventures with her friends Mehlanie and Kornelia, whom she knows from the children’s book *Mühli von Mühle and the Submersible Mill of Kröpelin*.

After the stories and adventures, young visitors can test their knowledge in a mill scavenger hunt and have the chance to earn their “Assistant Miller” certificate. They can also get hands-on: All participants will learn how to grind grain into flour and will get to make their own dough to bake delicious stick bread. Take part in the mill rally and earn your assistant miller certificate.

At 2:30 p.m., the Kriedel Puppet Theater will perform the fairy tale “Puss in Boots,” followed by a workshop where children can make mill mice.

Refreshments will be provided: The participating organizations will offer a selection of coffee, cake, and soft drinks.
